Most people still believe you can target where you want your body fat to come off first. People have been trying to target fat for years by buying gadgets and magic potions to make their bellies, cellulite and where ever else fat accumulates on your body. Much of where you store your fat on your body depends on genetics. This does not mean you can’t do anything about your love handles, just that you can’t do anything about that being the place your body holds onto fat the longest. If you want to get rid of love handles you will need to significantly lower your body fat percentage. This must be done through proper diet and exercise. Strength training is one of the best way of lowering your body fat percentage. The more muscle mass you have on your body, the more you are able to burn fat!

If only just showing up to the gym were enough, we would all be in great shape! Unfortunately, its not the case. Going through the motions is better than sitting on the couch but probably not enough to make noticeable differences. Many people get frustrated with the lack of progress which makes it difficult to stick to a consistent exercise program. We understand that most peoples exercise program is lacking stucture, intensity, progression, accountability and consistency. I’m constantly at the grocery store! Some weeks as many as 3 to 4 days. I like to eat fresh and buy in small quantities rather than one big shopping trip a week. This allows me to eat healthier and prevents me from being wasteful by having fresh foods going bad on me. Since I’m at the supermarket so often, I cant help but observe how others shop. Particularly how much junk food you find in peoples carts. Carts that are loaded with chips, cookies, frozen dinners, ice-cream, soda and canned goods. I always find it fascinating the direct correlation between whats in peoples carts and the state of their physical health. If you don’t believe me try it for yourself next time. You really are what you eat.

Many people think there is a secret to getting in shape, and too many people are looking for a quick fix because they dont want to do the hard work required to see results. I believe the MAGIC PILL of achieving results in physical health is consistency over a given period of time. This requires effective exercise and proper nutrition and sticking to it for the long haul.
